Page 12...He said he can't breath and was scared to death because he has claustrophobic. He was saying he couldnt breath prior to going into the car. Someone was saying you need to calm down because you're going to have a heart attack. Going to be harder to charge the officers in this one.

No wonder they didnt want to release the body came footage.

Dude, that makes me think much more that a charge here is unwarranted.
CROWD:
Is he breathing?
Check his pulse!

CHAUVIN:
Yeah folks.
Just give me another 150secs to kneel on his carotid.

I believe the cop thought he was pinning him down without applying enough pressure to choke him and it may have been due to a personal beef. I also believe there was a policy permitting it or he would not have been so blatant.

did you even read the transcript?

they should have released it early and often so we didn't have to deal with this nightmare

yet again America, you get played...as I said day one

don't judge what you think you know from a camera angle
you must ask "what happened to get to this point on the street faced down?"

Still shouldn’t have died under the knee of an officer if that is truly what killed him.

he wanted to be laid down on the ground...they allowed that after much fuss

I mean heck the transcript is all there...

he was nuts
he was panicking

he was anxious, he kept saying he was claustrophobic (about getting the back set) , yet, the Floyd was just pulled form driving a vehicle...so is it that he feels this way only when he isn't in control of the vehicle?

so he was driving while high as a kite...that's unlawful for those in Seattle...

Said don't shoot me several times, the Officer said "I am not going to shoot you, but I need you work with me"

Wasn't he in a car when the police arrive? Sounds like it, they kept telling him to put his hands on the wheel and eventually commands to step out.

Seemed to be having mental issues... Doesn't justify the knee to the neck after he stopped resisting, though.

How did the transcript prove how much pressure he applied?

Where is the tape so I can see for myself?

A restraint to prevent people from kicking and thrashing around. Looks like a belt

Floyd said he couldn't breathe about 25times before they got to the other side of vehicle...

he wanted to lay down, so they let him lay down

they they said the saw blood coming from his mouth

said he was going to die,

officer kept telling to him stop talking and to relax...

there was conversation about about a hobble...in his right pocket?

I don't understand that part..I will go back re-read it

Why "transcript" and not "footage"?

took 6 weeks to doctor it to THAT?

well, you know darn well the video exists and must validate what was released...you can't release a transcript without footage or recordings

they probably want people to absorb this first...

then they will release the tape, which will be even more damning for Floyd's supporters "he didn't do nuttin"

we will now be cancelling back seats to cop cars....

arresting a black man, you get to allow him to choose which seat he want while being arrested...

No back seat? Strap him to the roof or hood like a deer.

According to MN police advisory people experiencing drug induced delirium are better off face down prone.

Is that good medicine, though? I mean, that's what they did and he died.

Maybe they should re-think that. I'll defer to any doctors out there, but having to apply pressure to a prone subject sounds like it would be "the opposite" of good for breathing.

I'm just a lawyer. What do I know?

(ETA: I'm pretty sure this was a drug cocktail that triggered a heart attack, but the knee to the carotid, prone, couldn't have helped that in any way, IMHO.)

For sure. Meaning, how are the police supposed to know if he is really having a problem breathing considering he was saying that from the beginning and long before he was restrained on the ground?

I'm guessing that if it is proven beyond a reasonable doubt that the pressure to carotid even just contributed in part to the death (per medical examiner's findings), criminal liability for the death can ultimately be imputed to the accused.

ETA....allow me to add "unless the pressure to the carotid was justified." And therein lies the problem for Chauvin.

This is a great thread. He was saying he couldn't breathe, but they didn't believe him. There was no reason for him not to be able to breathe. He kept saying it after he went to the ground, so again, they just thought it was more bullshite he was saying.

These cops didn't mean to kill this guy. The guy with the knee on the neck didn't mean to kill him. DOesn't mean they can't be criminally liable for it, but intent to kill... no way. Not in broad daylight in front of everybody with body cams on.
