Dude, that makes me think much more that a charge here is unwarranted.

Floyd was high as a kite and mumbling nonsense and resisting the whole time.

Get ready for MSM and BLM to use the first few pages as proof of him not resisting. “I’m sorry” “don’t shoot me”. Nevermind the fact that his physical actions were resisting. Still shouldn’t have died under the knee of an officer if that is truly what killed him.

Why "transcript" and not "footage"?

took 6 weeks to doctor it to THAT?

Clearly impaired. Clearly dealing with some psychological issues as well (which is yet another reason to stay off the dope). His actions put him in harm's way and, ultimately, he bears a good bit of responsibility for his own demise.

BUT, once they had him secured and stable, they were responsible for him. Slow response by EMS didn't help. Nothing on the video or in the transcript suggests they meant him a single bit of harm or even displayed depraved indifference (or whatever the standard is there) - EMS was called very early, so they knew it was at least partially a medical issue. Cops need better training for emergent airway issues and just evaluating what was going on with Mr. Floyd. You had a big guy, on something, who was resisting, but generally lightly. He was cuffed for much of this so it would not have been any real harm to sit him up, observe him and talk to him while waiting for EMS. Sounds like enough cops were there to do that, control the scene, complete the initial investigation, etc. Combination of impatience, cynicism and lack of training to deal with predictable medical issues they were likely to encounter are the main causes of this misadventure (other than Mr. Floyd's poor decisions as outlined above).

He might have coded anyway, but the circumstances overall result in a bad PR hit for the Minneapolis PD (perhaps their demise) AND a bad hit for the nation.

Bottom line - I don't think the transcript hurts the cops in the jury's eyes - certainly puts the video into better context at the very least.

I believe the cop thought he was pinning him down without applying enough pressure to choke him and it may have been due to a personal beef. I also believe there was a policy permitting it or he would not have been so blatant.

"I am going to apply this hold that I thought of all by myself in front of all these people with phones!"

If there was a policy it was approved by every leftist in the police/local/state govt hierarchy because silence = approval in leftist-speak.

The cop is probably guilty of something that will be less than what he is charged with, I don't know law.

Wrong.

According to MN police advisory people experiencing drug induced delirium are better off face down prone. Remember the training and advisory documents?

Here's something from 2005 Police 1: 10 training tips for excited delirium
quote:

The biggest problem may come after he is controlled - when, after struggling against restraint, there may come "a period of sudden tranquility." At this point, Lawrence says, "the officers realize the subject has stopped breathing. Invariably resuscitation efforts fail."

At autopsy, "the pathologist is typically unable to determine the exact cause of death," but the police, of course, generally end up being blamed.

ED episodes most likely occur between Thursday and Sunday, with Sunday the most common day, Lawrence has found. The hot months, May through September, are the most common time of year. Male subjects in their early 30s are most frequently afflicted, with subjects under 20 or over 50 least likely; female ED subjects are "extremely rare." Of illegal substances potentially involved, cocaine is most common (more than half the cases). Alcohol is common, too. About one-third of the time, the subject will have a diagnosed mental illness, schizophrenia most likely.
