The whole No. 8 thing was short lived. Just give the player a captain patch.

Has he had his 30th birthday yet?

I’m ok with this choice.
I was pulling for Beloso but Beck is a great choice

Im happy for Beck, he has always been a consistent arm in the bull pen. I view this like the Richard Murphy getting number 18, it's not about his physical ability, it's about the way he handles his business.

Is he the first pitcher to wear it?

Super happy for the young man and looking forward to baseball season!

This is an interesting choice.
Is this guy even a starter?

He’s a consistent mid reliever, a Sr, that gets put in shitty situations and fights his way out of it.
Well deserved, Cenla Representing

I think so but he is definitely the first person to wear it that the number accurately represents how many years it seems he has been at LSU.

Happy for the guy. Definitely been put in a lot of tough spots in his tenure. Can’t wait to finally get to watch these guys play again. Go Tigers!

When did the #8 tradition start? First I’ve ever heard of it

Mahtook started it. Then Katz, Bregman, Fraley, Freeman, Dups and Cabrera.
