MLB Players who burst into the scene out of no where

Usually a late bloomer or someone who has bounced around awhile..... Excluding people who were brought up late like Judge/Chapman.
Jose Bautista is probably one of the best examples of this.
Ketel Marte last year as he was in his 5th year in the bigs and already 25
Marcus Seimen would be another recent example

Sammy Sosa was considered Sammy So-So with the Rangers and White Sox before breaking out with the Cubs IIRC.

Another interesting anecdote about Sosa is he is now a white cowboy

Not saying it will last. But Max Muncy came out of nowhere in 2018

Mark Fidrych. Went from a 10th round draft choice to national mania in less than 2 years.

JD Martinez is probably the poster child for this.

Sabo was a highly regard prospect, All-american at Michigan. Sabo, Barry Larkin, Jim Abbot and Hal Morris were teammates on that World Series team. Was a 2nd round pick and open day starter in '88 when we won ROY

Tim Wakefield. Struggling infielder to starting knuckleballer.

Luis Gonzalez hitting 57 bombs in 2001 and leading the Diamondbacks to the WS, his prior peak was 31 the year before. Also went for 1.117 OPS that year. Obviously highly questionable.
David Eckstein in 2002 was only kind of a late bloomer in terms of when he got called up, but sort of came out of nowhere to contribute meaningfully to a WS.
