bullshite. Dude's punching pattern was pretty easy to learn. In the end, he was no more a threat than Soda Popinski.

Wow. He knocked out a 50 year old Larry Holmes. He destroyed a bunch of softies. Stinks knew he had zero chance even before he got into the ring.
Lol. Holmes was 38 years old when Tyson knocked him out. Holmes also won his next six fights, including a win over Ray Mercer, before losing a decision to Holyfield in a championship bout.

Jack didn’t even play all the best players all every major like Tiger has.
Back then the best European players didn’t all come to America for the USOpen and Masters. And all of the best American players didn’t all go to Europe for the Open.
Go look at the leaderboards for all of Jacks early major wins.
There were only like 15 truly world traveling pros even then.
I hate these arguments because I love Tiger and Jack.
But the only reason this is a thing is because Tigers body broke down when he was still in the middle of his prime.

Ali had the fastest hands I've ever seen.

Not only that Holmes took the fight on short notice.

quote:. That is a terrible comparison and argument. In golf are as much or more so competing against the course the course conditions and the weather and yourself than you are the rest of the field.
That’s like saying TW is overrated bc he gained most of his Majors without consistent competition unlike Nicklaus who had Trevino, Player, etc
In boxing you are going directly against a opponent and everything else is irrelevant

So what, he lost to Evander and Lennox. That doesn't devalue the greatness of his career
Technically correct, but only because he has no wins of note on his resume.

Long layoffs are common in boxing and MMA. I noticed you left out the part where Holmes won his next six fights. Hardly an over the hill boxer. An aging former champion, sure, but still a solid fighter. Again, the only person to knock out Larry Holmes in his 75 professional fights was Mike Tyson. The other guy failed to mention that Holmes two consecutive losses to Spinks were the first losses of Holmes' professional career.

I’d be willing to bet you’d be on the floor in under 10 seconds my guy. Unless you’re a professional athlete there’s no chance.

Just proves how stupid most people are.
Like the OP said, he had a combo of power, speed and a legit killer instinct in him that has not been seen before or after.
He is a legit legend

Some of his comments over the years were great also Mike Tyson Savage moments

Tyson in his prime would have murdered anyone out there today. You can only beat who's in front of you. As for Busta Douglas, it was his day.
I agree when it comes to heavyweights. Disagree on the 6'6+ super heavyweights.

Tyson literally scared the shite out of this guy and sent him home crying. That's gotta count for something.

Lol. I wasn't pretending anything, I explicitly said that Holmes was aging. But at the time, Larry was 48-2, had never been knocked out, and was still a legitimate heavyweight title contender. How many greats couldn't beat Holmes, let alone knock him out in the fourth round? Ali, Shavers, Norton, etc. It's en vogue to shite on Tyson's career but his style and accomplishments in the ring, particularly at such a young age, were unprecedented. He's a Hall of Fame great, anyone who argues the man is overrated is unquestionably retarded.

Fury would destroy Tyson, even if they could fight in each other’s prime. It’s not even close.

Old Tyson has been doing nip workouts.

Problem is he’ll be gassed after 3 rounds
