Sessions was the first US Senator to endorse Donald Trump at a time when he was still seen as a joke candidate and he gave Trump legitimacy that he so desperately needed at the time.
When it happened, Sessions endorsement was a real coup and a steal.
It was a great personal risk to Sessions reputation.
