Can anyone answer this question?

How many test are false positive?

Is the rate of false positives higher or less than the rate of false negatives I wonder?

I certainly don't know.

Almost 4000 in 4 days.

That’s a rolling average of around 1000.

This is bad.

On the LDH dash there is a tab for Incidence by parish ... what does that mean? Thanks.

Nah

The trends that are not going the right way: %positive, hospitalizations.

I'm in the same camp as Boo, though. Not concerning yet. Have to expect some increases when re-opening. How high and how fast those numbers go up over the next few weeks is more important imo.

Of the new cases 536 of them are younger than 40.

410 are younger than 30.

Spike is certainly being led by the youngest and least vulnerable. This is the same trend we have seen over the last several days so hospitalization and deaths should not see a corresponding bump.

5 straight days with over 6% of tests positive isn't a great thing... but it's not exactly forboding either.

Are all negative tests being reported at the same time positive tests are?

Positives are supposed to be reported immediately, but what about negatives?

Context is needed:

Which is the only thing that should concern people. The shutdown is only done to help not overwhelm hospitals.

My daughter was tested last week and it was barely up her nose. We asked about it and the nurse said that the "new swabs" just "needed mucus from both nostrils".

Just because you're PCR positive, doesn't mean you're shedding infection virus either.

So how do you know if you're shedding? I truly am curious and don't know!

If you are actively hunting the virus (i.e. contact tracing following a positive test), you're going to get a higher percent positive rate than when testing randomly or for folks that have "symptoms" and seek testing.

This is all I could find on the incidence by parish

LDH today will add multiple indicators to its dashboard to help the general public and local leaders better understand the localized impacts of COVID-19, including:
Percent positivity and testing volume by region (to be updated weekly on Wednesdays)
Incidence map by parish (to be updated weekly on Wednesdays)
Hospitalizations and patients on ventilators by region (to be updated daily)

That’s good to hear. When I was tested they still needed to get a scraping from the back of your eyeball.

Ha. I don't know that, but it's just the nature of the test. It finds genetic material, doesn't mean that's a living virus.

But...that's why you err on the side of caution with quarantine.
