Yet all the movies and shows (as good as some of them are) are focused on the same timeline.
They will never trust the audience to see Star Wars without a connection to the old trilogy. It’s all about money.

Give the keys to Filoni.
He's the only one that truly understands the story of Star Wars, how to not piss off the fanbase and what makes a good Star Wars movie/TV show.

Disney and Lucasfilm plan on setting up an MCU-style Star Wars universe that is set in between the original trilogy and the sequel trilogy.
There's lots of material in the prequel era and they also could do what if stories like this one example....
- What if Anakin Skywalker refuses to join Palpatine but Order 66 still goes forward, the empire takes over and the Jedi order is forced to go into hiding?

A good test run would be to fund a remake of the video games to be released on the new consoles. Fan base reaction can be gauged on an untapped gold mine

No more Deathstars, no more Skywalkers, no more Yodas
Maybe no more death stars or sky walkers, but no more yodas is a bottom 5 take Ive ever heard. The baby yoga supercharged the mandalorian to highly regarded meme status. It got the show so much attention. There is about a 0% chance they abandon the yoda species, and for good reason, its insanely popular.

Actually, I have seen very little of The Clone Wars on t.v., and while I did like it more than any of the prequels OR sequels, an animated show on SW just isn't my thing.
I 'liked' the original 3 movies very much, but I'm not what most would call a TRUE SW fan. More of a casual fan, tbh.
Ahsoka, as best I can gather, is a viable , solid female character. Unlike Rae 'Palatine' , who is about as Mary Sue as they come.
Well at least you saved us the trouble.
Clone Wars and Rebels are for people who love Star Wars so much they’ll boycott movies because LucasFilm has been sucking balls.

That's your loss then. The Clone Wars is an amazing show and it gave us Ahsoka Tano and she is one of the best characters in Star Wars and she pisses all over Rey.
Furthermore, The Clone Wars is some great TV to watch and it gave us compelling stories like Pong Krell betraying the Clones, the bad batch, Yoda's spiritual journey with the force priestesses, Anakin foreshadowing his turn to the dark side, Ahsoka being framed, Obi Wan falling in love with Satine on Mandalore, Maul being resurrected and his training of Savage Oppress and how younglings become Jedi.
Also there's this....

Too late.
Focus on TKOTOR.
The Skywalker arc was bastardized from JJ on down. Let this portion of the galaxy live with the Mandalorean alone and go elsewhere.

Premise #1:
Luke's not dead, he's an immensely powerful Jedi Master who used the Force on weak-minded Imperial loyalists, to convince them the New Republic was gone, and thus diverted their interests elsewhere.
And yeah, he got quite a chuckle by disgracing Han and Leia, it was both a private joke on them, and intentional misdirection so their foes would underestimate them.
Problem solved
Premise #2: employ the Mandalorian as Iron Man, cornerstone of the new SWU. Just like Tony Stark popped in and out of every MCU tale, so also can the Mandalorian do so with the new Star Wars entities; disgruntled Rebel Alliance members who wanted the war to mean something. Discreet Jedi-types who laid low after Order 66 (Asoka, for example), who don't trust the new regime any more than the last. Career Republic/Imperial military types, soldiers who just did their jobs and saw things go crazy. Petty dictators, and petty benevolent leaders, who want independence from the bloat. The remnants of the various factions who first fought the Republic, some under real aspirations of something better.
All looking to carve out a space in the new galaxy, since there's clearly a vacuum where leadership once was.
An easy tie-in, going to of all places, Ep 8: the stable boy used the Force to get his broom.
Luke could do that, too, once Ben showed him. Who is teaching the kid? Who's hiding behind gambling and arms dealing, and actually has knowledge of the Force? ... a Jedi could become a damn successful casino owner, if he kept it subtle, while quietly manipulating things. And there ain't no Code anymore, it's every Jedi for himself now. Better to stay in the background, make some money in the process to divert suspicion, and groom the next generation.
Edit to add- Hell, it could be Mace Windu. Mangled and left for dead after Palpatine and Anakin rough him up. Anakin kills off the Trade Federation... but there were other groups. We saw the Techno-Union in the last episodes of Clone Wars. Now, they understand they're betrayed, and need a protector. You could do the Robocop thing with Mace, make him a cyborg.
Still strong in the Force, but by the time he's recovered, shite has hit the fan and he (and the Techno Union) need to go underground. And with all those cybernetics, why can't he still be alive 40, 50 years later?

Something is happening in Star Wars.
EA is setting up for a new flight sim/arcade shooter.
Mandalorian showed people accept non skywalker stuff with a good story. They may have realized there's a shite load of gems to polish with Rogue Squadron and the old EU.
They might be ballsy enough to mine Shadows of the Empire and change character outcomes.

frick Mace. It’s all his fault.

frick Mace. It’s all his fault.
He'd hate Palpatine and Vader, and wouldn't trust those damn fool naive Rebels either. In fact, frick everybody. He'd be quietly brewing up some Dark Jedi vengeance shite.
And once the Empire fell, he'd have opportunity to start exerting influence.
Thinking about that, and the casino planet on Ep 8... he'd have the connections to all the arms dealers in that scenario. Some he'd know as leader of the Jedi Council, others via the Techno Union. Enough Force power to mask shite from both sides, especially since everyone thinks he's dead. So that irrelevant scene would now become relevant... that's his new power base. And he could be training the kids in the stable; show them humility with making them do menial labor etc. Teach them how to hide in plain sight.
Also would make that Benicio Del Toro comment about "you just don't get it, it's playing both sides" more important.
And best of all, it gives you the chance to bring both Samuel Jackson and Benicio Del Toro back into the universe.

If ever get around to revisiting the animated shows...
At least I know they're out there, and from what I've seen, they're quality viewing.
Why Disney can't make a major movie in the franchise that's on par with these, is beyond me. The sequels are like finger paint effort in comparison to Louvre pieces.

Not saying it isn't true but Grace said Kennedy was probably on the way out like 2 years ago.

Add Timothy Zahn to that list and they'd be good to go
Zahn is much better when you read the Wikipedia synopsis of his trilogy than his actual trilogy. He made some cool and classic characters like Thrawn, but there is some cooky stuff in there too and the cooky king of ruins the cool.

The only reason DJ isn't the worst character in Star Wars is because of Rose Tico. No thanks to bring back him, Broom Boy, Canto Bite or anything else from Ladt Jedi
