Therefore, if being gay (it’s not) or being trans (it is) are classified as a mental illness you still couldn’t fire them for being gay or trans.

Can a business refuse to hire a person with diagnosed schizophrenia?
Can a business refuse to hire a person with gender dysphoria?

If you are fired for being a white male heterosexual your employer violated 2 things on the federal level and 1 on the state level. You cannot he fired for being white (race-federal), for being male (sex-federal) or heterosexual (sexual orientation-State now federal after this ruling).
