Texas Tigers - license plates may be on the way

I just got this email from the Dallas alumni chapter.
The last first is "a work in progress." Many of you have heard of the LSU Specialty License Plates that are being marketed in Miss. and Georgia. In conjunction with each of the alumni chapters across our good state, we have begun the application process to have LSU plates available in Texas hopefully by the end of the year! More details of this will be forthcoming in the next update but spread the news as we have to presell 1900 plates statewide to begin production. You've wanted them, now they'll be available. We'll have a picture of the proposed plate at the Wed. night Happy Hour so come see the future!

Why doesn't Louisiana offer specialty plates for any out of state schools like other states do?

I saw a designer Texas plate today and I think our LSU symbol will be bigger than the Georgia plate because the left side is completely taken up by whatever you want there and the text is smaller to the right of the picture.

Great news. It's about time. Us LSU fans get tired of seeing all the Texas college plates when we want to display LSU.
