Today's bump may be partially related to SLI's presentation at the Echelon Partners Lithium Summit today, which begins in 1 hour.

That's been my position with SLI, if we're being forced to go EV's, then I want a way to profit from it.

Here's today's presentation that Mintak just finished giving.

This may have been known/understood by others but this was the first time that I remember them giving Lanxess Phase 1A FID a target (H2/23).

Unfortunately, we didn't get a new timeline to chew on today so I'll be hoping for positive DFS/PFS results on 6/30/23 at 11:59pm.

I pose this question for anyone...

Considering the resources of Albemarle, is there good reason to believe that these "minors" will succeed in this arena before they do?

The presentation from today is already available on SLI's website- Investors/Company Info/Presentations.

Before they do? No. Albemarle has already succeeded in the arena and is one of the worlds largest and premier lithium producers.

However, there is plenty of demand for lithium. Certainly market share to go around for any of these up and coming juniors. The race you should be more concerned about is amongst the juniors in the space and who can seriously get to market first between those guys.

They say FID 2h/2023. unless its July or August, there is no way they start construction in 2023... at least not much of a start.

EDIT* the presentation says "Final Investment decision target: Q4 2023*

I'm guessing the gap is for time to find investors to fund the project. they have 100MM in the bank, but the project will cost 140-170MM to build.

Maybe offer preferred shares to existing holders at that time.

Debt is expensive these days. It will be interesting to see how they close the funding gap (with debt or equity) and what portion of current cash they are using for the construction costs.

They haven't had success in direct extraction. They have invested heavily in old school lithium mining which is terrible on the environment. They failed miserably at direct extraction and abandoned it.

Hoping for some government bucks before any share dilution.

This is why I believe the market isn’t rewarding risk with this stock right now. The funding for the expansion is unknown

Is the local ground breaking showing signs of progress?

Not that I'm aware of, but I've been in and out and haven't spoken to any of the folks that are actually working on it. Haven't really heard much of anything that hasn't been in press releases.

I would've gone to the yearly shareholder meeting but I was out of town awaiting the arrival of a new granddaughter. I will put it on my calendar for next year though.
