Couple of Police units, some portable lights set up. Folks in Broadmoor and Tara, lock your doors and hide your Women.

They’ve been up since Friday/Saturday. And Lololol at anyone trying to do shite in either of those neighborhoods.

I saw that today. I think they are just staying ahead of the situation.

4 years ago everyone in America saw how vulnerable this converted Physican’s Tower that was turned into a Police Headquarters was to civil unrest. It took nearly 75 officers manning fixed post 24 hours a day for weeks to keep it from being over ran.
In those 4 years, SWB has made zero efforts to target harden the critical infrastructure (Police Headquarters) of Baton Rouge. This facility is less than a half mile from the site where 3 officers were ambushed and assassinated by a lone wolf from out of town.
BRPD spent 20k on a music video last year with Officers singing cover to Micheal Jackson’s Black and White. Earlier this year, the City Council attempted to approve a contract for a local community organizer for excess of 150k for future speaking engagements.
Priorities.

In fairness, that was a bargain.

What would be an example of a non-vulnerable police headquarters? Is it an issue with the property as a whole, or is it specifically the building(s)?

Go look at Louisiana State Police’s Headquarters. There are concrete retaining walls and fencing around the entire property. One way entrance can be maintained easily with less than 5-7 men, or in their case their little step brother DPS Officers.
That place houses less than half of the amount of cops as BRPD’s HQ and faces no where near the amount of threats.
Priorities.

We should all expect more than that of our local leaders. It’s 2020.
Target hardening CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE should have been a top priority after the Summer of ‘16.
It’s not hard to do the right thing. You just have to have the right spirit.

Priority 1- raise the pay
Priority 2- increase the numbers
Priority 3- less OT
But we have put grocery stores first, bus line down Plank second and the Collis Temple mental health facility third.
