You didn’t work weed into this?
Instead of reparations for our mistakes, we should reclassify weed as produce, a vegetable and move on.

Slavery actually held back the US. The only people it helped were the slave owners, it was horrible for everyone else.
When labor was free, there was no incentive to innovate. The Industrial Revolution started in England after their abolition of slavery, largely because without slavery it was incredibly expensive to make anything. So the Brits had to innovate.
US GDP didn't really take off until 1870, not a coincidence.

"I owe my soul to the company store."
All slavery wasn't black,or called slavery.

The best part about this is every side lobbing humerus caricatures of all the other side's arguments around.

But we are a slave to the corrupted justice system in this state and this nation, and as a boring arse nerdy white guy sitting in my living room typing on my x570 based Ryzen 3700, I say, legalize weed and let my people go. I pray that Donald Trump sees my message.

They “built” this country, yet every other country that is predominantly black is a beacon of prosperity right?

Slavery did not build this country, it held it back in many, many ways.

I'm pretty sure the blacks had lower end construction jobs at the places you mentioned.

Slave labor was used to build several early buildings in Washington, DC, including the White House, the Capitol, and the Washington Monument.

Construction Workers built this country.

The old south was built on slavery in the sense of agriculture, yes. But let’s not act like that was the only reason America is where it is today. Poor European immigrants can’t be left out either. Also the high rollers of history who funded all these ventures during the Industrial Revolution and beyond.
We are all a product of our time and no race should be stereotyped or judged based on their previous place in history.

Laying bricks for the early colonies or working in the in subsequent the tobacco/cotton fields could be considered “helped build”, but to me when I think of people that built the US, I think of Cornelius Vanderbilt, Andrew Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, JP Morgan (who essentially bailed the US out of bankruptcy).....folks like that who had a steadfast vision and a damn good unwavering plan to get shite done.
