Major League Baseball intends to propose a shorter season in which they would pay players a full prorated share of their salaries, sources told ESPN. The league believes the late March agreement allows it to set the schedule, and that this would fulfill players’ pro rata desire.

But I thought the poor ole owners couldn’t handle that? It’s almost like they shite they tried last week was a ploy to get one over on the players before the next CBA negotiation

They’re apparently just gonna propose a season so short it accomplishes the same thing

It saves them salary but doesn’t come close to setting to precedent they were trying to set with their original proposal

And it appears to stick to the agreement they made in March, which is a huge sticking point by the MLBPA.

The number of games/schedule will probably be negotiable from here

NON-STARTER. A slap to the face. We'll never play under those conditions.

The players gave that part up in March. They gave that decision to the commissioner's office from what I understand.

It's why their proposal for a 114 game schedule was a farce (and intended as such).

They were talking to Mo'ron, Cadinals POB, he said if deal isn't done by end of next week, it looks bleak for an actual season.

He also said they get something done, they will more than likely stay in St.Louis and have practice and games between the first team and 2nd team, with some prospects mixed in.

Players wanted it, so they can stay home, and they have already given MLB their plans. Possibly open up stadium for fans to watch mini games once June 15th hits(state fully open)

i guess it depends on how much shorter this will be than the already laughably short 82 but this is major progress nonetheless
