I’m anxiously awaiting the point in time where the HRR shows what happens here during the event. The HRR is usually pretty accurate but I’m not sure of its track record with tropical events.

The HRRR saves my arse on my short range forecasts.

So what’s your official forecast for Baton Rouge for this?

The HRRR can be hit or miss I've found. The last thunderstorm event we had here it seemed like the WRF-ARW had them nailed more than the HRRR.

Screams oddball.
More of an extra-tropical development aloft in this second stage, akin to Cindy.
Size of system & structures aloft may bring thoughts of Issac coming over Cuba/Keys as a large tropical, with cold-core tendencies and low winds.

Let’s first see what it looks like when it pops back over water tonight.

*this afternoon*
I’m betting it’s back over water closer to 2:00-3:00 our time.

So dry air will make this asymmetrical. Hopefully it takes more of an east jog over the gulf coast so we get the dry side.

Cristobal taking that Carnival cruise route back to New Orleans

This thread is going pretty slow considering we have a relatively high confidence Louisiana landfallalling tropical storm in 3 days.

Weatherman Frankie is always right.

That’s because
1. It’s still a little early. People are just waking up or getting to work.
2. It’s just forecast to be a lopsided tropical storm. If the NHC were forecasting a cat 1 this thread would be cuttin up more than a lesbian meet & greet.
