Generator check
I ran my generator yesterday for about 10 minutes with a load with no problems. It’s brand new though so I mainly just wanted a reason to run it
I’ll go get gas tomorrow if the models keep showing what they’ve been showing. Just to be safe.

This thread is going pretty slow
No time to post about a storm when there are 94 Drew Brees threads to pay attention to.

This thread is going pretty slow considering we have a relatively high confidence Louisiana landfallalling tropical storm in 3 days.
Early season sloppy system. No serious wind concerns. No real threat of flooding from heavy rain.

I remember walking in a foot of water on my parents' street, which usually doesn't even get covered with an inch of water during the heaviest rains.

Bird nest taken care of. The wife helped me out.
Genset at the house thanks to my daughter. Ran it under load, all good.
SIL will be here later to help me out with a few things. Will have him put a 110v ac in the bedroom window for just in case.
Will fill up four 5 gallon gas cans.
Just need a run for more beer. Then all will be good.

1965 was a long time ago.
Betsy and Katrina were the worse in my life time. All others, not a big problem.

I'm almost 35 and can remember Andrew but to me, Gustav was the worst. I was at my parents' house in Donaldsonville (well, really outside of Donaldsonville) during Gustav and there was one particular gust of wind that I'll never forget. A weather station at a plant a couple miles away recorded that gust at 120mph. Everything went complete white from the rain and the sound was a deep roar with tons of bass. When it subsided trees, shingles, branches and other debris was EVERYWHERE. We were all chilling in the garage at that time and when it was over we promptly got our asses inside
