“What am I doing? I'm fighting the deep state,” Trump said in an exclusive interview with Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson. “I'm fighting the swamp…If it keeps going the way it's going, I have a chance to break the deep state. It's a vicious group of people. It's very bad for our country.”

I’m hopeful he’s telling the truth about him being the one who is willing to fight the deep state. I really am hoping this isn’t some kind of ploy to make us falsely believe something that isn’t truly happening.
I voted for him hoping that he wasn’t/isn’t our typical “politician”, because of his record he isn’t.

Term limits is the only way to truly break the deep state. Sure it is already damaged some, but it's too deep and wide for it to be broken apart for good. They will just regroup and gain strength again after Trump.

Other problem is the Deep State doesn't have a nerve center. A lot of the bad actors are independent of each other.

This is really and truly the one thing I wanted most from a Trump presidency.
If he can break up at least part of the cabal, then a lot of our problems get better quickly.
Restore the rule of law in DC, Mr. President. Please and thank you.

I keep saying this and will write it again, I do not really care if term limits are in effect or not. What needs to happen is for the rules to change completely.
1. Only limited time in Washington for the purpose of doing the governments business
2. Pay only commensurate with limited time. You will need to have a real job in the place where you were elected to be able to support yourself.
3. No benefits whatsoever. No health care, etc. You get your travel expenses and hotel expense when doing our business.
4. Against the law to meet with any lobbyist without 24 hours advanced notice (that would include everything, even golf) and the agenda must be disclosed and the public must be allowed to attend.
this would be a good start. Take the financial incentive out and the greed from lobbyists and more true patriots willing to serve would be running.

10 years should be the maximum time ANYONE can be employed by the federal government. You can return to the state level afterwards but lifetime federal appointments have shown to be disastrous for our Republic

The only way to break it up would be to close departments and or move them out of DC
For example. Agriculture should be in the Mid West and Energy should be in Texas or LA. Education should be closed. Hud Should be closed. Homeland Security should be closed.
