Wife's cousin had it. She's an army nurse (no pics, but she's eurasian and very into fitness so use your imagination). Had severe shortness of breath for several days but recovered quickly with no aftereffects. After she got out of quarantine they sent her to Seattle to set up that field hospital they never used.

Many people just don't have a good grasp of probability.
0.02% is 1 in 5,000 people. So not only should there be several people here who know someone who died from it, odds are several people who posted here in the past have died from it themselves.

Know of people who had it. Two older people, one was actually in a nursing home.

Friend of mine’s mother died from it, as well as my grandmother.
At least a half dozen people I work with have gotten it as well if varying ages. 30’s-50’s

My brother had it. A little overweight.
Said it kicked his arse for a week and a half.

I know of one person whose grandfather died in a nursing home in NY.

.02% of this nation has died from this
Zero point zero two percent
That is almost statistically zero, yet this one website all know someone it seems
Either tigerdroppings is God himself, or people lie
There are well over 100k accounts on this site, but let's just say only 10k are reasonably active. Odds are about 2 active posters here have died of covid.
But we're just talking about posters who know someone who had/died of covid. Assuming a decent amount of overlap, we'll just say that each poster knows only 100 other people. Active posters here cumulatively know about a million people. On top of that, we're one of the hardest hit states per capita.

Friend of a friend’s mom died from it (or with it)

Orleans pariah had 0.1% of its population die from covid 19, with 70% being African American
Still statistically shocking so many on this baked know someone
There are thousands upon thousands of posters on this site.
There are just over 40 posts in this thread, with maybe 3/4 saying they knew someone.
What is so difficult for you to understand lol

A guy I graduated with who o haven't spoken to in well over 10 years got it. ICU and vent.
Lived.

This hard hit state has had 0.1% of its population die, with the average age being 74
It’s so freaking rare to know someone in that range. Just saying

I have a buddy on the ROOSEVELT who got it. He said he didn't notice he had it until it was almost done, said it was like a common cold.

There are 1.5 million confirmed cases in the US.
Most in this thread are saying they know someone who had it and survived.
If this were a thread titled “Y’all know anybody who died from the virus’ you might have a point lol

My daughter had it, it was pretty bad

quote:My god, man, I know at least 40 people in their 70s by myself. Between all the posters on this site, together we probably know almost every single person in the entire state. I would bet a reasonably large sum of money that every single person in Louisiana is no more than 2 degrees of separation from a TD user.

I have had a bunch of employees test positive already. One brought it home and infected her daughter, sister and elderly father. Her sister and father died from it a couple weeks ago. I don't think a mask would have helped her had she been wearing one. The people she was exposed to? Maybe so, but I am pretty damned sure hers was a touching a surface then her face exposure. The mask causes one to touch his face a LOT.

It doesn’t add up at all from a statistical analysis
