Town of Many will not enforce governor's order
quote:
MANY, La. — The Town of Many has announced that it will not enforce Gov. John Bel Edward's next emergency proclamation when the current Stay At Home Order expires on Friday, May 15.
In a letter from Mayor Kenneth Freeman, the town's proclamation dealing with COVID-19 will expire on May 15.
Freeman says he has no plans to issue additional restrictions dealing with COVID-19 in Many.
Freeman adds that in the last three months of federal, state and local proclamations, the people understand the risks and dangers of the coronavirus. He says that people understand what measures residents must take to protect themselves, their family and their community from those risks and dangers.
"The Governor, for the last three months has not enforced his proclamation relying on local governments and most of all citizens voluntarily adhering to his proclamation," writes Freeman. "After May 15th, the city of Many will not actively enforce the Governor's proclamation and will instead rely on our citizens to take what measures they know will protect themselves, family and community from the disease."
The mayor states that if residents feel the need to continue sheltering at home my choose to do so. However, he says he advises those who choose to resume life as "normal" to wear masks, practice social distancing and wash their hands.

srsly?
Many, LA Population: 2,720
My high school had more students than Many has people.
Who gives a shite about this chickenshit, one red-light town?
Come back when NOLA, BR, or Shreveport defies JBE's order. How is this even news? Plus how is it even relevant, isn't the lockdown over today everywhere in LA anyway?
This mayor gets no republican street cred for announcing that he is opening up in defiance after the order has ended. Maybe if he did this April 15th this would've been news. But to announce this now is just retarded, it means absolutely nothing. Just pointless posturing by some douchebag mayor from a one horse town.
