Taking a rushed vaccine for a corona virus, which as stated by others previously has never had a working one, with all the obvious fear mongering going on right now sounds about as good an idea as the Patriot Act being forced on us after 9/11

Blindly trusting the government to "keep us safe" is the root cause of many of our lost liberties and freedoms

I don't get flu shots, so I probably wouldn't get this one.

God has changed his mind quite a bit.

If it’s produced in China hell no.

Even if not still no, why would I get a vaccine for a flu

So you're implying that members of the medical community are against a vaccine that doesn't even exist yet? Gotta be pretty tough to evaluate a vaccine that doesn't exist.

I'll get it eventually but will wait a while after it comes out

I'm least excited about every moron claiming anything that goes wrong in the year following the vaccine is because of the vaccine

I work with old folks and have parents with compromised immune systems, so it'll just be added to the yearly flu shot for me.

You have the option to do neither of those things.

People die from a peanut. Injecting diseases into yourself can't possibly harm you.

I honestly don't know, depends on how things roll out. Like others I am skeptical of this fast tracked vaccine. But I am in a bad situation. My Dad is in a nursing home and I have been able to spend anytime with him in nearly 2 months, other than talking on the phone and looking at him through the window. I am pretty sure they are not going to allow visitors until there is a vaccine. Then they won't allow anyone in who hasn't had the vaccine. So what to I do take the vaccine and risk potential side effects and not be able to see him or take it and be able to visit him.

Three comments here

1) that was literally at the very beginning of vaccine science.

2) they don't use that live virus method any more. They use inert material that tricks the body into making antibodies

3) with computer modeling, they can develop safer, faster, more effective treatments. You're talking about how the Wright Bros crashed, and therefore you don't feel safe getting on a modern jetliner.

Vaccines are safe and effective. And this one will be too. Final answer.

Admittedly, I'm no expert so I'll consider what you are saying. But isn't the mRNA approach that Moderna is taking cutting edge brand new biotech aswell? I may be mistaken but I also think I heard on CNBC one day it was the first vaccine developed with that approach. Maybe in 70 years, they'll be talking about that mRNA disaster.

I'm not sure if Ill take it or not, we don't have enough data or even a vaccine to talk about. I do, however, think the concern that we were told 2 to 3 years is standard, and now they want to push this thing out for emergency use in 8 months is not completely crazy. It seems pretty rational to raise your eyebrow at that.

Unfortunately I'd have to take it likely because I work in healthcare.

But if I didn't, hard pass. I'd rather just get the virus. It will be very new and not tested on large populations over long terms yet.

And I think anti-vaxxers are fricking stupid and dangerous to our society, but COVID19 isn't Polio or the Measles.
