As high as 83% in some states.

It is much higher. No way NY is just 11.8%.

That's a HUGE outlier! No way that number is right.

Yeah the NY number is definitely the outlier. Something seems off with that.

The number of people that died in nursing homes may be correct but it may call into question whether the other deaths were really COVID related.

No, Cuomo has found it to be quite easy.

Might be some social security for Gen X after all.

New York is fudging the numbers. If a nursing home patient is discharged to the hospital and then dies they are not counting them as nursing home deaths because technically they were not there.

Speculation but I would bet that’s the difference.

Per WI's official site the number is 46%, not 41 and change.

For that number, I believe they are only including CONFIRMED cases that died WITHIN a nursing home.

Conveniently excluding deaths with PRESUMPTIVE cases, which they don't do for other counts, and nursing home patients that get sent to a hospital where they eventually die.

And, by the by, by my rough estimate on the percentage of the US population that this covers (nursing home residents) is 0.3%. So, less than 1% of the population is accounting for a large chunk of the deaths.

My numbers could be way off though, didn't do a whole of of delving into that.

Other articles have reported between 50 and 60% of NYs deaths have been in nursing homes.

Even that doesn't make sense.

If they caught CV in the nursing home they weren't collapsing and dying there...they were getting treated at hospitals at some point.
