*Not Including The Beatles
My entry will be Destroyer, the 4th studio album by KISS (which is their 5th overall release).
*I think Alive! is actually KISS’ best album, but let’s not include live albums for this thread.
It is my contention that most bands/artists release their best work within their first three albums. (Going out on a limb, I know

Fear Innoculum from TOOL
In fact, you have two potentials with them, some may say Lateralus.
I personally prefer Aenima over Lateralus, but think I’m in the minority.

Paul Simon. Graceland was his 6th solo release (I think) and after Simon and Garfunkel too.
Scarface's The Fix for rap.
Edit: Social Distortion's White Light, White Heat, White Trash.

He said after their 3rd. Lateralus was their 3rd. Opiate was an EP.
And most would say while Fear is amazing, Lateralus is the top dog.

Talking Heads- Remain in Light (4th album)
Yo La Tengo- I Can the Heart Beating as One (8th album)
The Kinks- The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society (6th album)
Not sure which Dylan album to pick as his magnum opus, but it definitely came after his first three. Stones too.

Is an EP not an album

He should have stipulated LP
And if you want to get technical, Salival was prior to Lateralus, so its still after the 3rd.

Parallel Lines was Blondie's third album, but their fourth Eat to the Beat was just as good, if not better.

Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime

Aja was Steely Dans 6th album, a lot of people think it's their best.

Well he didn't stipulate but all the songs on Opiate and Undertow were written at the same time. They're virtually the same album. And Salival? Nice try counting a live album.

This. I would also argue that Physical Graffiti could be their magnum opus.
