Well this is AWKWARD

So my wife comes into the bedroom last night as I’m watching TV and she has this confused look on her face. I ask her what’s up. She shows me her phone and there are a couple Ashley Madison emails that just came through on our joint email account we use for bills, family stuff, etc. They are the kind you get when you first sign up for something. She said she knows I wouldn’t be stupid enough to sign up for that and use our joint email account, so why are we getting these?

I clicked on the first email where it wants you to verify your account and it brings me to their website. First thing I notice on the website is all the women it shows me are from Baton Rouge. Well that’s a major f’ing coincidence if our email was randomly stolen or something. So I go to the settings page and click on profile. My jaw drops. I’m staring at a profile photo of my... dad. WTF.

Then it occurs to me that my dad’s gmail address is very similar to ours. So either he entered it wrong or it was some kind of auto-fill mistake on his computer. I have no idea how this happened. My dad is 60 years old and on his second marriage (just made 18 year anniversary). Apparently things must not be going well. Now my wife is pissed and says “all men are dogs. Here I thought your dad was different.” So you can imagine how the rest of my night went. Thanks, pops.

We deleted the account and have decided not to say anything. Basically pretend it never happened. We’ll see if he ends up saying anything about it... if he’s even figured out his mistake by now. Dude is probably wondering why he can’t log into his account anymore. Sigh.
