The far right has been nothing short of a complete embarrassment during all of this, you people are every bit as emotional and stupid as the progressive brown shirts.

And though I understand Trump was under tremendous pressure to act, and still is, he was had too.

Sweden did this right. Kept life perfectly normal while protecting the elderly and immune compromised population only. Their economy is unscathed!
Are you purposefully lying and looking for upvotes or just woefully ignorant?

Yeah Sweden is a real powerhouse. Saab just kept on cranking out the 9-3's during covid 2020. Oh wait Saab auto is Chinese now like Hummer.
So really what you're saying is the Swedish Bikini team was able to complete spring training.

Man is that really the best Sweden could put together?

They're also about a quarter higher than us on deaths/million...

We’ve just prolonged the impact of this virus with our stay home and social distancing. Now, We’ll have a 2nd wave.
Let’s just hope that the 2nd wave is handled more intelligently.

Amazing at how offended some people get at the news that their lockdown wasn't really the only option we had.

Sweden also has universal health care for all citizens so...
Any scenario that increases the number of hospitalizations for the uninsured or underinsured in the US could be detrimental to the people in the US because insurance, mortgage companies, etc are going to get theirs

Is that higher or lower to the number of people that tout Sweden as some wild success when the data suggests the opposite?

If I had a dollar for every time I've read or heard about this great way that Sweden handled this, I could buy a new car.

Which data suggests the opposite? That they have more infected and dead now? Sure. But it’s also more likely that it is completely behind them sooner which means in the long run the US numbers approach and potentially surpass swedens.
Right now and for months or years we really won’t know.

I think Sweden may have made the right call. We really won't know for a while. But many are terrified at the prospect of Sweden being proven right. It will be interesting to see where everyone is in August-September.

Meh. They have done their social distancing thing better than we have for the most part. It's just that their government didn't make it an order to do so.

I mean it’s the data as reported by the WHO, CDC, NHC and Dingxiangyuan. I don’t know where to find more accurate positive infection and death numbers.
I will say that the numbers where probably fudged by the likes of Russia and China at least.

As of now it would be 16k more deaths in the US. What I do suspect however is that the US will continue to grow over the long run while Sweden’s rate remains a more flat trajectory.

First, they are social distancing almost to the same degree as Americans in effect. They don't have government-mandated lockdown but the vast majority are heeding the government recommendations in addition to the government closings.
It's not "business as usual" as many would like you to believe.
Second, they are experiencing higher cases loads and deaths per capita than their Nordic neighbors - which is really the only apt comparison given demographic and density realities.
