What type and brand is everyone using for prescription sunglasses? Pricing out Costas and Oakley at $400-500 seems a bit ridiculous.

I have a pair of Maui Jims.

If you can find any for less than $400 let me know. I've had 3 pair and all where north of $500. For the last several years I've been making sure I can get clip on's that will fit. The last two have been like this with the magnets in the lenses. The downfall is they're not super secure if you bump them or whatever when you're running in the boat, fine as long as I leave them alone.

Yeah they’re pricey as shite. I got some Maui Jim’s. Want to really have fun? Get progressive lenses. Wife said “oh those are nice. What’d they cost?” I said “why would you even ask me that?”

I get Wiley X Rx through work. No complaints. There are several different styles and lens options. I have the Nash now.

My estimate from a local place was over $800, and that was for Wiley X. I ended up ordering from SportRx for just over $300.

$400 for Costas is a damn fine deal BTW.

Ok if what you're looking for is reader sunglasses, don't buy a high end brand. In fact don't buy any brand at all. Get whatever regular pair you want (Costa's, Maui's or whatever else) and then purchase these.

They're amazing. I've got them on three pair of Costa's and a pair of Smith Optics. They stay on great, even when wet. They're non-permanent, meaning you can put them on different glasses and because they're plastic, they can be cut to size with a sharp pair of scissors or maybe a tile cutter.

DO NOT buy a pair of sunglasses with permanent readers!!!

Bond eye clinic (Denham Springs)
$300-350 Oakley prescription Gas can.

A lot of eye places run specials in the spring and summer where they give you 20 or 30 % off. Also, if you have eye care insurance you can use that if you don’t need new eyeglass frames.

Of course none of the eye places are open to help.

There are places online that are cheaper than $500 with coupon codes that they have through the year.
