Looks like folks were correct in that Villeneuve was keeping the same feel of Lynch's Dune.
One helluva cast too, even with the blatant woke choices.

Outside of Star Wars, i am in on anything Oscar Isaac does.
I have season tickets to Villeneuve so I am very in on this movie.
Tempted to read dune but I kinda want to go in blind

Did you watch the 1984 Lynch Dune?

Rebecca Ferguson is so fricking hot. How she has been in some big movies and isnt a big timer is crazy.

Brolin looks badass - none of those shots has tempered my excitement for this movie

I haven’t read the book but frick, the unbelievable cast, the director and all of these shots are making me hype as frick.

DUNE (not all the sequels unless you're into hardcore scifi) stands alone as one of the great scifi works of the last century.

Go pick it up now. You won't be disappointed. Probably my favorite scifi novel of all time, and I say that as a rabid Heinlein fan.

I've actually been to where that first shot/pic was filmed. Wadi Rum in Jordan. Absolutely beautiful.

He looks pretty convincing as Paul Atreides. Really looking forward to this.

What are "big movies" in your opinion? She was in the two most recent "Mission Impossible" movies and in that not great recent "Men in Black" flick, though that was a minor role.

Liet Kynes as a black woman? That's gotta be like 20 woke points.
After Brian and Kevin did him dirty in Prequels. This is ok, this is fine.
I'm really digging the Atriedes armor, wish it had more green though. Really digging the simplicity of their swords. Not outlandish monstrosities and close to the gladius with a little Eastern flair.
Stillsuits look good.
Any Harkonnen or Corrin/Sardaukar stuff yet?

No, I’ll leave it at that. I don’t want to derail this thread with how overrated I think Lynch is

Considering the Bene Gesserit backup plan for being caught up in savage cultures was "at some we implanted a mythology of a savior in them use it to take background control and live!"
And then Paul as future Greek starts a Jihad across the Imperium with Future Muslims. There is nothing woke about this. It just kinda makes it more funny in today's PC culture that everyone is looking forward to the ultimate Mighty Whitey.
