Thank you for your lovely note.
It was so nice to hear from you.
Strange times for us all.
Please stay well and safe.
On a scale from 0-10, 10 being the extreme of weirdness. It strikes me as a little weird.

I would make one paragraph and not 4 lines FWIW

Looks exactly like something my Mom would write

What’s weird about it?
They’re saying thank you and acknowledging the current societal climate for a little extra fat in the note.
Big deal.
Your thread is weirder than the note.

It's a haiku, a-hole.
(It's really not, I just like saying the word haiku)

Actually looks as if they're providing comfort right back. Sounds like a nice person.

Idk I don’t think somebody close dying is part of “strange times.” It’s just sad. The context of the strange times just makes it more sad.

10/10
The fact they took the initiative to think of me,with all that’s going on in the world, buys them a pass in my book. Don’t be fricking petty bro. Bad look.

0 on weirdness. Absolutely nothing at all weird about it.

This is like a -5. What are you expecting? Some rambling diatribe? A literary discourse the thickness of a NYC phone book?
Although perhaps a bit generic, it's still thoughtful and direct.

My family is dealing with a death in the family right now also. Trying to plan and figure out how we’re going to handle only 10 people allowed at the funeral is definitely strange.

At least they cared enough to respond, could’ve just said screw you.

Not sure I've ever actually read a thank you card. If I get one I open it up just to see who it's from. If I have read any ever, it certainly wasn't worth posting about it here.
