Will Campbell … If Hill is one to watch on defense in the 2022 class, Neville High’s rising star is Campbell, and he looks the part of one of the state’s top young prospects. Campbell plays football and basketball and is already 6-foot-5, 250 pounds leaving his freshman year of high school. Playing at Neville over the three years will give Campbell the chance to develop into one of the state’s best offensive tackle prospects.

Tall and lean and wears his weight well. Appears a tad narrow through the core but owns ample space for bulking potential. Shows consistently good hand placement and keeps his mitts inside targets. Gets to second level with relative ease. Looks for extra work when necessary. Natural bender. Possesses naturally high center of gravity, but plays with above average pad level relative to height. Shows an encouraging ability to kick slide with frame to give edge rushers fits in pass pro. Can get more consistent extension at the point of attack. More of a catcher than a puncher who can improve initial punch power. Can play with a wider base. Pass pro reps have been limited. High-major offensive tackle prospect with terrific tools and long-term potential to reach the NFL Draft.

The big time in-state offensive tackle we'll actually land for a change

This kid is at my house all the time. He is a man child. Very good kid though.

Yep. Could be a franchise LT. Time will tell.

If he plays basketball then he has quick feet and in which is what is needed for him to be a good left offensive tackle.
Again, players that play multiple sports are usually the best players of all.

should be all LSU
wonder how good he is in pass pro on the edge. Feet are probably good but he doesnt show a big punch or heavy hands in his highlights. He is overwhelming kids but they usually get into his body first
that's being picky though, definitely not saying he can't kick slide or use his arms better, etc.

Basketball skill sets almost always translate REALLY well on the football field long term. Not necessarily true the other way around.

When we get this kid and JudgeMental's son I'm gonna feel like we are living in Wisconsin for a second.

You have a kid playing on same team as Campbell?

No my son doesn’t play but he is at Neville. He used to but he runs like he has a tractor tied to his arse. Lol. So he never started. They are a pretty tight nit group of kids there. If anything would be a concern there it would be pass protection development. Simply because of the type of offense they run. I think they have him playing DLine some too. I’m also no expert so I may be off on that development part. Just my opinion and you know how those are. Solid kid with a solid family and a very hard worker.

agree, you don't see use of skills he would need to be a LT in the SEC in our offense when you look at his highlight vids
he looks athletic enough that you hope feet, knee bend, punch, etc could be acquirable

You might check out Brister’s (passing QB) highlight vids to see him pass protect. Campbell’s vids show mostly pancakes. There hasn’t Been an OT in the state of LA (maybe since Robinson) that’s feet, hands, speed and strength (at 15yo) are like his. Oh, and reach. An OT with a portfolio like that after his sophomore season...just saying...

Campbell the same age as your son? Y’all go to the football games? We go to every home game possible. I’ve got a son in grade school that’d love to meet him in person. Of course, after all this virus business stops. I pray this doesn’t continue through football season...

My son is a Senior this year. I didn’t get to go to as many games as I’d like due to work. Brisket is at my house a lot too. That kid could be great in a different offense.

My son told me this weekend there's a proposal to push HS football season back. I didn't get all the details, but he was talking about it starting in November/December and the championships being played in the spring.
