Mississippi can get away with it. Who is going to hold a convention or move a business to friggin Mississippi to begin with? Anyone bent on supporting a group of failed revolutionaries should relocate to Mississippi and live their dreams LOL...

One of the first things Jihadists do after an invasion is destroy all the History and art of those they seek to annihilate.....

If this zhit bothers you, you are lamer than the people celebrating what happens to be an actual part of History....get a hobby.

Always remember, history is written by the winners. I had ancestors that served for the Confederacy and I have pride in that fact, my opinion will never change! Destroying our Confederate History because of bleeding heart liberals is disgraceful! But of course, the libs will say 'you are racist due to slavery'- well call me whatever, doesn't bother me! All nations had slavery, look back at history! Had the South won, slavery in the U.S. would still have ended within 10-20 years after the War. But current lib history will tell you the only war issue was slavery which is b.s.!

I am a lifelong Mississippian, and am a Trump guy. With that being said I absolutely hate confederate heritage month and our ridiculous state flag.

We don't need to celebrate an attempt to break away from the union in order to have the "right" to enslave other American citizens.

Right. Let's just ignore the interceding 100 years of Jim Crow.

I’m not the left....

The whole concept of putting this at the forefront is clearly intended to fire people up. Which strikes me the wrong way to go in just about anything—regardless of the subject matter

So I guess Cinco de Mayo being celebrated in Texas really chaps your arse, if you're being fair with your liberalism.
Cinco de Mayo is a lot of fun, but I have always found it odd to be celebrating in Texas about something that happened AFTER Texas seceded from Mexico.

Diez y seis de Septiembre would make more sense. Texas was PART of Mexico during the Mexican War of Independence.

Most Texans I know consider Austin the treasonous part of Texas and want it razed to the ground like Sherman did Atlanta.

The Union only exists because of the consent of the states. If a state wants to leave, why should it not be allowed to? The United States preaches about freedom and democracy the world over, but an actual peaceful secession movement in this country would be treated as violently as the Chinese do Hong Kong.

Your side does this a lot, though, when traditional values are defended.

I am being pretty damned "Ace" in this thread. I've always argued for the nuance and context in this particular debate.
