Policymakers are being held hostage by the media and the social and economic fallout from this disaster are going to define the next quarter century at least. Totally insane.

The black plague killed half of Europe. It was the 1900s before the population recovered.

i agree it is being covered like nothing before and there most certainly is some fear mongering by the media, but some policymakers on both sides should be ashamed for trying to fill these stimulus bills with pork and more importantly not working together to develop a reasonable timeline for when life can go back to normal for the American people.

I agree. It’s akin to the closing of schools because of a fricking thunderstorm. You never heard of that shite ten years ago. Now it happens three to four times a year. Get ready, this is going to be the new norm. This will happen every five to ten years. Bunch of pussies.

The communities that were just ahead of Genghis Khan's invasion were kinda scared also. Or so I heard.

I think we need another world war if folks are thinking being told to stay home for a month is a massive ordeal that will define the globe for decades.
We’ve become too decadent and innocent to adversity.

The Great Depression.

Totally and completely overblown.

Yet the MSM is saying we aren’t doing enough! Trump is mean and bad with blood on his hands!

Tyranny is knocking on your doors!!!

I don’t know man. The TDS outbreak of 2016-2024 might give CoronaVirus hysteria a run for it’s money. Mostly the same people, which explains a lot. Delicate psychology leads one to hysterical politics. I mean, if you are having a real problem not wetting the bed about the human condition on a daily basis, this is kind of a golden era for you.

In 1957 (US population was 176 million) and 1968 (US population was 201 million). They had 116,000 Americans die in 1957 from a pandemic flu and around 100,000 in 1968 and the entire country did not shut down nor did people even talk much about it. 1957 was known for the 57 Chevy and 1968 was known for Vietnam protest, hippies, music and drugs. The people that can work from home should, help our elderly the best we can, wash our hands, keep your hands away from your face, don’t hang out in crowds, use common sense, and get this country back to work!

No. That would be Orson Welles and his telling of War of the worlds.

You sound like a lazy minded crazy person.
Is the UK being "held hostage by the media"?
What about Canada, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Greece, France, Germany and every other industrialized country on this fricking planet? Are they being "held hostage" by the media as well?
Are all these countries willing to tank their own fricking economies because the American media says they should? Are you thinking this dumb shite through?
Turn off the talk radio for just one fricking day and think for yourself.
