I've had it for about a week...

Started with a really bad sore throat last Sunday. By Tuesday morning, I knew I had something and needed to get tested because I am an essential worker. Went to urgent care, hoping it was strep throat. Flu and strep throat came back negative. That's when things got weird. So the nurse comes back and says so flu and strep came back negative, so your good. I'm like what? I'm not good. Nurse goes and gets the doctor. Doctor starts with the same thing and I'm like, what is the deal. It's like I had to pull it out of her. She finally admits that I probably do have covid but because I'm not old and in shape, they won't test me. So I left and put myself in quarantine. Took off work and haven't left my house for a week. It just pisses me off that it seems like some people are able to get tested and some aren't.

You have a sore throat and think you have covid? Sure, it's possible.

Did they provide a dust mask?

You don’t have it.
You’re not dead.
As I understand it, COVID is a death sentence.

What difference would it make. You’re doing the right things even if you would have tested positive. 6 months ago you wouldn’t have thought twice about this.
Stay strong man. You got this !

What should the point, you know you got it. You think they are trying to avoid lowering the mortality rate? That’s possible but I think you are just validating why all this...’we need tests..’ is bullshite.

It's allergy season. Pretty much everybody has a sore throat.

This is the worrisome part. They should tell you this up front and make sure you aware that you should quarantine.
I know it sucks that they wouldn't test you but I get it if the test are in limited numbers at the moment.

So if we’re only testing likely positive cases....
Should we still be surprised when the % rate is so high?

Sounds like you have the hiv.

They want to keep the mortality rate high. My mother in law had the exact same thing happen to her. She was even hospitalized for a short period and they still didn’t test her.

This is the only part of this story that bothers me.
You don't need to be tested. but they NEED TO TELL YOU TO QUARANTINE YOURSELF.

Okay, TB...serious stuff. I've had sinus drip for 3 weeks, which has now progressed in the last few days into an inflamed/sore throat. What makes you think that you might have CV...I.e...."I have it"?
I hate the though of visiting a MD's office, as my wife is 77; but I realize the problematic aspect of allowing a normal sinus infection to get worse.

What do you want?
You’re already quarantining yourself, which is all they would have told you to do.
Unless your condition gets worse, I fail to see why you MUST get tested.

So a doctor told you that you’re fine? I’m told by every boomer on this board that has a buddy that works at Oschner that we are all going to die. We all need to shelter in place!!

Hospitals are testing more severe cases.
Shouldn’t piss you off. This is what happens when a new disease goes into pandemic status in a few months. Medical services are not prepared and science/testing/ treatment has not caught up with it yet.

OP should sleep in his car, parked behind a funeral home.
Save him a trip, makes it easy on the fam
