Yes basically african americans and obesity. I would say about 90% of the patients in the ICUs fit this criteria.

Information: How good is the information sharing amongst the medical community? Do they share what is working and what isn't? Is the information crowdsourced at all or is it all centrally controlled?
Not very good from my perspective. Each hospital has different ways to go about this based on intensivist opinion. Twitter and podcasts may really be the best information sharing avenue.

Auto-immune diseases: Are people with psoriasis, crohns, MS, lupus, etc worse off once they contract CV because of cytokine storms?
I don't now. But I did have a myasthenia patient today and 2 of the drugs on the do not give list were hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin.

Can you manage a vent if not no questions here

What are your initial vent settings for intubated pts.
That would depend on many things:
Patients lung capacity
Current ABG’s
PEEP
How much pressure it takes to adequately fill patients lungs
Elasticity of patients lungs
Expiratory adequacy of patient

How do u feel about the state and federal government’s response. Appropriate? Unnecessary? Should be doing more?
Don't know.

How are the folks in the ER holding up? Y’all slammed? Gonna make it through?
Fortunately most people are staying in. Censuses are down and most patient are their legitimately.

Basically with the vented pts, we are starting off at high PEEPs. but again patient dependent

I am concerned with your screen name being Red Rum and you are a doctor

does that mean dad bod/beer gut? Cause I fall squarely in that category
Yeah, I got a little bit of a beer belly. But I also ran 5 miles today at an 8:23 pace with almost 300ft of elevation gain. I stay active but the BP remains high without medication.

What is plan on testing healthcare workers for antibodies to covid19?
Posted on 4/1/20 at 9:23 pm to Red Drum
Does the Covid come out more at night? Are curfews good for this?

Given what you’ve said about the hydroxy/z pack combo and needing ekg during administration, would someone like me (early 40s with a fib) not be able to take it?
Prolonged QT interval biggest risk. Depends on meds. Are u on amiodorone?
Most meds wouldn't contraindicate.

For the majority, like 90% or more of our patients under 70, you can tell they are unhealthy just by looking at them.
I am not a doctor. Just telling you based on data I see

Have you or your colleagues been advised on any meds other than plaquenil that target TLR 7/8/9 or possibly currently available estrogen receptor modulators as being in the pipeline for testing?
No. Are you talking about effects on Hgb? From ER perspective, my main concern is the hypoxemia we r seening.. is it real? is O2 curve shifted so far that they can sat 50% but still oxygenate?
