I like the course. Hope it stays open.

Billy Casper runied the Island. Hopefully someone will come in and get it back going.

Not the casino I hear now. Lol

The casino never made sense.

I live 5 minutes from the course and need to know.

Rather than 9 holes, turn it into a lighted 18 hole par 3 course. It would crush during ST (if DST doesn't become permanent). How awesome would it be to catch a game at the Box or TS vs waiting in traffic for 2 hours.
ETA: then turn the remaining property (along tiger land/south side of the ditch) into parking and/or dorms/apts like ASU is doing with Karsten.

When Mike Johnson retired, that was the plan, but I think they will keep it going.

I got nothing. At all.

Damn, I was hoping it was true and they would offer a good membership program. Pelican is just rediculous with it's greenfees and membership. The course is average at best with very good greens.

Any update? The original letter to homeowners said The Island would be maintained as a golf course through today if no one bought it.

If something is happening they are keeping it very quiet.

Unless you need to launder money why would anyone sign up to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars a year? Either the local government or homeowners will have to buy it.
Thank BREC and LSU for the economics of golf in BR Area.

If you are just buying the course yes. But if you are buying land too it’s worth it. You could also make it where each homeowner is a member and pays monthly dues. There are plenty of things you could do to break even. But the land is the major key.
Also a business owner could be looking at something to show a loss.

Still for sale. 1m price tag.

Not a bad price. Let the homeowners subsidize it like CM with a membership. It turned CM around.
