I think the question that people should be asking is why does the government get to decide what businesses are essential and what businesses are non-essential?

Scruffy makes a good point.

But, materials for a leaking roof, etc. could be qualified as essential.

because they sell items that are considered essential

like appliances, home repair items, etc
