They can never be told they’re wrong because of this:

Still, Birx and Fauci stressed that the total number of deaths is not certain to hit 100,000 if Americans strictly follow recommendations on social distancing.

“We really believe and hope every day that we can do a lot better than that,” Birx said.

Just like Rush Limbaugh said today....the doomsayers can’t ever be wrong because they can always fall back on “well you followed our guidelines amazingly and that’s why we had less deaths than projected”

Somebody used that reasoning here a few days ago in a reply to me. If a lot of people die they were right, if a lot of people don’t die they were right.

What exactly are you suggesting? What’s your angle at this point?

We never had any chance of hitting 100,000. They know this. That number is simply so they can say, "See? It worked!"

So yesterday it was 100,000-200,000. Now we are hoping for <100,000 ?

Hmmm . . .

They want to keep it going because they are loving the limelight. They have never and will never be this popular again.

Exactly. You can see it coming a million miles away. They'll take credit for the death toll coming nowhere near their ludicrous predictions, based on their insane guidelines.

But those of us with a brain know that if this thing were half as bad as they want us to believe it is, we'd have already soared past 100,000 deaths, and just hoping these measures would keep us under a million deaths.

This works the exact same way for all you deniers. None of you will ever admit that the guidelines helped and you will cry nothing burger for the rest of your life.

The fact is we will never really know what an alternate reality would have brought.

Do you have any doubt that trump will use this exact line?

There is no way 100-200 thousand people are dying of this in the next two weeks in this country when we are just under 3900 last I checked. Especially when we know that hydrochloriquine, Zithromax and zinc are working so well in places where its been used and now it's been green lighted by the FDA to use across the board.

I think the change in tune to doom and gloom is so that when we get to the end of two weeks and we're nowhere near the predicted number of deaths Trump can open up the economy and have political cover in doing it. They'll stress continued social distancing and hand washing etc... and they'll warn seniors or at risk groups to be especially careful but for the rest of us it should be back to work and a more normal life.

I predicted days ago that if the thing slowed down, that some posters would never acknowledge that following the guidelines
the guidelines actually worked.
As usual, Limbaugh is just a provocateur and
Full of shite.

Is it wrong form me to want to fix that dark front tooth of hers.

I guess she is too busy with her pandemic models to go to the dentist.

Wait, her pandemic models shut every dentist down.

Oh well.

But at least we know that the people who think that this is just a flu that has been giving a hysterical degree of attention were definitely wrong.

...so in other words quarantines work. Humanity has only known this for, what, thousands of years now?

maybe this isn’t a big game of gotcha? Maybe they are trying to lessen death, ever think of that?
