What is the reasoning behind doing it this way instead of reevaluating every couple of weeks? I really want to know.

So true.

Might as well start at The Villages, STD capital of the world.

Mid May?
That’s insane

This model is showing Florida at peak COVID prevalence in early May. The governor is probably using something like it.

Fixed it for you.

58% of Florida's population resides in those 4 counties. Also where the vast majority of cases are so far. A much more tempered move than a statewide order.

Good move. Maybe some of the yankees will stay home or return home to New York, New Jersey and Connecticut if they realize that Florida restrictions are just as tough.

Smart moves by these governors. I see no problem keeping tens of millions of people out of work and broke for months. Should be easy.

Why south Florida? Is there something about the demographics that make it particularly at a heightened risk?

Lots of people traveling from known northeastern hotspots. Three major airports, two with international flights, all with multiple departures to and arrival from known hot spots that continue to this hour. Two large cruise ship terminals. An older than average population.

Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach are prime candidates to be the next New York.

Just way more people.

Maybe Dade/Broward.

Palm beach a bit too spread out IMO, especially north county.
