Why did the task force advise AGAINST a quarantine of the NYC area?

Seems like a decent solution at this point to prevent any more nyers from infecting old people in florida.
Would love to hear fauci and birx's reasoning for suggesting not to do it?

Because there are a number of legal and constitutional issues to begin with before even trying to place a plan that probably won’t work anyway? It might of been worth the fight if it had happened earlier and the Governors were on your side.

The constitution doesn’t apply to guns in NY, why should it apply to the people?

Well when the mayor and health experts were telling everyone to go movies and the St Patrick’s parade, what would be the point?

Fauci's people are there, he could never go back home.

Locking down NYC doesn't do any good unless you can enforce it, and keep people from hearing about it before you do it. Neither of those applied. We don't have the police/militray force to enforce it. And Trump (stupidly) tweeted about it, beforehand.
It would have just caused a panic and people fleeing.

Frankly, I don’t have much faith in either of them at this point.

Well they are dealing with an unknown illness that grew from a minnow into a whale in about five or six months. I think having hope instead of faith in knowing what they are doing would be a better option.

Remember the Danziger Bridge? Nobody want's hundreds/thousands of those incidents.

I'm gonna go with Trump had an exact idea of what he wanted to accomplish. Whether it came to fruition completely or partially or at all, we won't know that.
I will say, the first idea that came to mind for me was that after all the warning prediction and foretelling of the unprecedented dire consequences of the plague, Cuomo turns around and essentially says "Whoa whoa hold up.....it ain't THAT bad." Completely poo poo'd even the general thought of the potential action Trump stated. And Cuomo really didn't even leave the possibility of that being a reasonable possibility at any point in the future either.
Cuomo bit and bit hard, tipped his hand.

Yep, with Cuomo now running against Trump for President, this is important. Cuomo won’t be able to say that Trump wouldn’t shut it down.

I'm pretty sure anyone with the means to do so has already left NYC. To late to do it now.

First off, depopulating NYC temporarily is a good thing.
It will help the hospitals not become overloaded.
Also, for this thing to slow down, more people need to get it which means more people need to be exposed.
I think this is actually what we should be doing. Depopulating major cities is nothing but good in these situations.

Do you want riots and civil unrest.....and maybe police turning their backs on their jobs? Because when you really start fricking with people's rights they are not going to stay the frick at home!!!!

This should have been handled as well as a poison/infectious substance under Federal Hazmat Response. Things would have turned out better. Possibly. It's a health emergency but treat it as a hazmat emergency too.
