My neighborhood is 50/50 liberal / conservative (a rarity out here) but we all have one thing in common after making the rounds these last two days on my dog walk. Everyone thinks (even our neighbor with both a Bernie and a Warren sticker on her Subaru hatchback) we should be going back to work the week after next (or sooner).

Everyone knows multiple people who are out of work. Everyone is nervous about their 401k or their mortgage or their pension. Nobody knows anyone that has had anything worse than a moderate flu.

Do you at least let your dog crap on the liberals' lawn?

He always does bc they are the only ones with a semi-outdoor dog. But I always pick up his poop and sling the back across the street David style into our yard where I pick it up later

Working from home is pretty fun for me.

I would be pretty pissed if I got laid off or couldn’t get paid to work from home during all of this.

My next door neighbor used to manage three hotels in the Arlington-Crystal City area. She was forced to layoff a good majority of her work force a couple weeks back and has since been laid off herself.

This shite needs to end soon.

Everyday Americans are selfish and ignorant.

I work from home full time anyway.
I’m ready for my wife and kids to get out of the house.

Maybe.

But they also sense that our lives are absolutely fricked if we keep this shite up for as long as what it’ll take to have an impact.

You’re about to see the power of humans’ want for self preservation. And rightfully so.

Explain to me why healthy people, who have a very small chance of becoming seriously ill, can’t help grind it out and keep the economy moving forward a bit. People who are susceptible to clogging up ICU beds should be taken care of and highly quarantined. But why go farther than that?

This. Zion understands why there can’t be fans there. But he can’t understand why he isn’t playing basketball right now, and neither can me or you

Most people aren’t crying on social media like a lot of the “men” on this board or the OT

People need to work. Sitting inside for months is not sustainable.

Our lives are absolutely fricked if we don't contain this shite.

We can recover economically. We can't bring people back to life.

That's how this will continue to spread. Letting this run rampant in the "healthy" population is about the worst idea I've heard.

My neighborhood is pretty full of the worst kind of boomer leftists. They probably cursed soldiers coming home from 'nam.

They all seem miserable walking around the neighborhood. I walk, run or bike around multiple times a day and always have, because I work from home. I've never seen 90% of these pathetic little troll people. I say hi when we pass because I always do (as most Southerners do). These creeps cross the road and look down.

It's really sad actually. Anyway, I ventured on to next door the other day and HOLY shite we are getting the F out of here asap. I don't want to raise my kids around these people.

These are NOT "everyday Americans." F em.

Herd immunity bro. Hindsight being 20/20, elderly and anyone with pre-existing conditions should have been told to self quarantine in January, everyone else should go about keeping the economy humming along.

What is your deal? You are in every thread trying to defend this nightmare. You are either a colossal troll or are profiting from this.

Why don't you go complain to the dozens of people in every thread claiming this is a hoax or it's just the common flu? Is it because you happen to agree with them?

frick off.

You think herd immunity is acquired in a matter of weeks?
