If we don't get a lot of cases he's going to look awfully foolish for replenishing the ventilator supply that was depleted under Obama.

I bet we have percentage wise the lowest death toll.

And I will go a step further.

Let’s both actively contract Covid-19 and see if it kills us.

No total, with the rate of increase we are seeing, we will pass china by the end of the week and Italy by next week.

China already got caught hiding 40,000+ cases. Are you figuring those in?

You don't think Africa, or any Central or South American countries will surpass Italy?

In reality yes. Reported no. I'd imagine the testing is almost completely unavailable in some of those areas.

The most important stats are the death rates and hospitalization rates and their rate of growth.

Overall numbers of people who test positive arent all that significant.

Again. Testing is nothing at all. But a TOOL. That we can use to determine who in this country (the United States) is infected with Coronavirus-19 (COVID-19).

The test is NOT a vaccine. It is NOT a cure. It does NOT stunt or slow down the spread of COVID-19 in the human body, nor stunt or slow down the spread of the virus in communities of humans.

All it does, is help us to determine WHERE the virus is, and HOW FAR it has spread, and in WHAT AREAS it has spread in. This information better helps us to prevent those communities from enabling the virus from spreading further, through preventative measures. Mostly just information dissemination, shutting down businesses that enable large gatherings, shutting down schools, etc.

Right now, as the # of available tests grows, so too will the # of positive COVID-19 results grow. And as a result of that, there will be increased efforts to contain the areas - the communities - of human beings that are infected, to stunt the spread.

But while we were slow to develop those tests, the COVID-19 was still out there, spreading amongst the communities, with very little measures of containment, because we didn't have those tests, and therefore didn't know where the infections were.

Had we had those tests earlier, there could've been a more effective containment effort. But it is what it is. The more tests that are getting out there, the closer to overall containment we'll get....

You mean we will pass what China reports.

As for Italy, we have 5X their population. If in the end our totals exceed theirs 2-3X, how would you rank our performance?

Honestly no, I am basing the rough numbers off the John Hopkins website, but even if they hid 100k cases I think we would catch them by next weekend.
