I don't think he qualifies.

Not the best player, but the best performance I saw in person was Rex Grossman in 2001.

22/32 for 464 yards and 5 TDs. Could have been a lot worse too.

Yeah I was coming to post this.

Him, McFadden, and Alexander are the most dominant performances I’ve ever seen an opponent put on us. Grossman was sick. Averaged like 20 yards a completion

Thought he was on his way to the Heisman then threw like 5 picks against Auburn this next week

One that hasn’t been mentioned is Demarcus Ware in the Troy 04 game. He was an absolute terror that night in a game that was way too close for comfort. Spears was as well, seeing those two guys blow up the OLs on both sides of the field was really fun to watch.

I remember thinking that guy was going to be a great one and was really upset when Dallas took him just a couple of picks before the Saints.

Then Dallas took Spears a few picks later in the 1st round as well and I figured Jerry Jones watched the game too

I agree on Archie. the 1968 game he led them on a drive at the end of the game to win it for the Rebs....People forget what a good scrambler and runner Archie was. So much better than his boys. Slippery as hell. I also enjoyed Ronnie Estay slinging his one armed butt down in the south end zone in 1970.

Great categories.

I would add to your last: Reggie White (GOAT DL in the NFL) and John Hannah (OG for Bama in '71 and arguably the GOAT OG))

The question was who was the BEST opposing player, not who played the best game against LSU in Tiger Stadium------unfortunately O.J.Simpson

Curious... did Herschel Walker ever come to BR??

Hershel never played in Tiger Stadium.
Shaun Alexander’s performance that night in TS was hard to watch but he was on that night.
On one team, that ‘79 USC team had about as many legit stars as one team can have.

This goes back to the late ‘60’s but the two that left an impression on me and I still remember them.

Defense: Ted Hendricks
Offense: Archie Manning

None of the above....for me the best was Charles White...USC in the '79 game. He was super fast and smooth as silk. One of the top 5 RB's I have seen in Tiger Stadium since my first game in "67

No other answer as far as I’m concerned

I’m convinced that today, in his 60s, he would still come in and run the triple option straight down LSU’s butthole.

Derrick Thomas was unblockable when Bama played us in 87. I think he just sacked Hodson again just now.

This is the answer

Second is Charles White
