Heading to Texas from Mandeville to do some fishing this weekend and I would like to pick up some boudin along the way. What are you guys' favorite boudin stops not too far off the interstate? Furthermore, are you guys currently aware of any of them being open for takeout?

Best Stop in Scott was always my go-to when taking boudin/cracklins to customers in Houston.

As others have said, can't go wrong getting off at the Scott exit, just before you get to Lafayette.

stop at Famous Food in Lake Charles as well. its not far off the interstate
They have great boudin as well as three kinds of cracklins.
regular, smoked and soft and spicy
the soft and spicy are a little different but great!

Billy’s. Make sure to get the pepper jack egg rolls and boudin balls as well.

Sonnier's in Lake Charles makes good boudin.

The best I’ve had is at Ronnie’s in Hammond. Getting the smoked links and baking in the oven until the casings are crispy, and then dipping in creole mustard is the way to go

Best Stop does have good products, however, they started adding too much liver to their recipe for my taste.
Try Sonnier's in Lake Charles. It is only three blocks from I-10. Enterprise Blvd. to Mill Street.

Put Poches on the list and get a plate lunch if you can but get their stuffed chickens or pork chops from the meat market to take home. Bring an ice chest

Billy's or NuNu's in Scott.
Bonus - stop at Rabideaux's in Iowa. They've got the best smoked sausage I've ever had.

Scott exit, North is Best Stop, great place to browse...good boudin, stuffed pork chops, etc. Almost an old time Cajun meat market. Now for boudin balls, eat them on the ride, get them at Billy's....used to be on South side of Scott exit, think he may have moved a little from there but WELL WORTH THE EFFORT...RIDE TO HOUSTON WITH TWO OF THOSE LITTLE RASCALS IN A BAG WILL MAKE A BANG OF A PLEASURE.

Market Basket in Vidor has good boudin. Take the 105 exit and it’s on the right. Buncha backwoods deliverance looking folks in there but they’re harmless.
