You gonna sit in your house for 90 days.....shite, you gonna do it for 21 days????

The virus might be over in a few weeks. The economy is going to be fricked for awhile. A lot of people are going to become unemployed.

Think about Katrina only it's not just South Louisiana and Mississippi. It's the whole fricking world experiencing a similar disruption...

Here's the problem. You crazies aren't even reading the restrictions right. No one is prohibited from leaving their homes. You just can't go to bars and restaurants. How the frick does that equal house arrest?

Would have to waive 2019 taxes or something on that level to stimulate back the economy

What does survive mean? Are we gonna be trading berries for nuts? No.

This isn't California, one of the worst hit states. This restriction is not nation wide.

This country survived an invasion by the British, the Civil War, and the Great Depression. Think it'll survive an economic downturn like this one.
Well yeah.... we’ll survive. It might look like reconstruction era south around here, but most of us will be alive.

Doubtful. We are just now starting to scratch the surface at how much the virus has penetrated society.

Yep. It's going to get really ugly in a couple of weeks for a lot of people. Hopefully Congress gets something passed soon to help those people.

Who the fuk said anything about suspending the entire economy for 5 months? Quit with the hysterics.

Global warming will save us.
By the end of April, we will be business as usual.
Agreed. Studies have shown the virus does not like the warmth. The faster Spring comes, the better. Social distancing from now until then will help tremendously.
Wish people would stop equating social distancing for a month and a half with the end of the world, though. The economy will bounce back faster the less people that are exposed.

No one is putting you on house arrest... Y'all are a bunch of primadonnas. Quit panicking. Learn to cook, work from home, and go outside from time to time. You don't have to go to a sleazy bar in Bucktown to play video poker to feel "free." The economy will be fine. Everything will be okay if you just chill out and spend a little more time than usual at home.
Posted on 3/16/20 at 3:09 pm to OKtiger
I love that the solution is “work from home”. That’s not possible for the vast majority of the work force.
Posted on 3/16/20 at 3:10 pm to OKtiger
But if you go the restrictive route, a la San Fran....you might as well. What you gonna do ?

Has anyone said that? With many companies going to work from home, new advisories every day saying to avoid places where X number of people congregate, restaurants being shut down, etc., it's going to cause a lot of job loss, a lot less money moving through the economy, bills not being paid, etc.
