It’s been a few years since we be seen it, man I love this movie.
With free HBO and Cinemax this weekend, I’m loading up the DVR with free movies, and this is one of them.

Most boring movie I've ever seen. I really don't get the love for this.

Agreed. I saw it for the first time a few years ago. Didn’t realize it was a movie that won anything or had any recognition at the time. But I loved it.

A) Slumdog is excellent. Screw the haters
B) I actually thing it did set a bad precedent for the academy. it’s one of the first non-mainstream movies I ever saw (I had seen Indy movies plenty but it was the first time I ever wanted to see an Oscar winner and couldn’t find it anywhere) and I feel that’s around when the Academy decided to start rewarding non wide release movies.
Not that independent movies winning are bad but from that point I feel like they have tried to really go after movies that nobody saw or have heard of to the detriment of legitimate better movies. Shape of Water, Hurt Locker, Moonlight, Parasite, and Birdman come to mind.

It has plot holes you can drive a truck through, especially the brothers’ choice at the end coming out of nowhere.
I loved it the first time I saw it, but was shocked at how poorly it held up on second viewing.
The Dark Knight was released the same year and this is the film that won BP over it.

No argument that it’s got problems.
There are plenty of movies that I think are made for a single viewing and it you try it again you’ll be disappointed.
Interstellar, Joker, Slumdog, Dunkirk, Arrival, A Star is Born, etc are all movies I really enjoyed but I think if I ever watched them again I would be severely disappointed.
And yes tDK not even getting nominated is one of the greater tragedies of the Academy.

I liked it also. Just a different type of movie than what I was used to.

Robert Mifflin had a great life. But unfortunately, had undiagnosed depression, which over nine million Americans suffer from and is very treatable. For two hundred and fifty dollars, how did he kill himself? A.) A rope, B.) a knife, C.) a gun, D.) brushing his teeth!

It was pretty cheesy. Not worth a second watch IMO.
