How likely is it that domestic flights get halted?

I’m back home w/ family in La right now but am hoping to return to Denver, where I live and work, come Sunday morning.

The SO is high on anxiety right now thinking that domestic travel will be barred. Someone help calm my nerves.

Not very, it seems to be all over the US now so I’m not sure what the point would be.

Welcome to Hotel Louisiana. You can check out but you can never leave.

That’s what I’ve been thinking as an alternate option

It’s happened before for national security, but not likely in this instance.

If you get stuck having to rent a car and drive back, there are some brutal stretches of road that will put you to sleep. Hwy 287 between Dallas and Amarillo, especially.

I love that drive. Once you get to Raton it's incredible.

Main concern is a nationwide lockdown. Think you are still good to fly Sunday.

I have no idea.
But my wife just got a text from her mother who just flew to Chicago to visit family. The mother-in-law claims that the airlines aren’t going to allow them to fly home to LA until they quarantine for two weeks.
But she has a penchant for the dramatic.
Will I trip tomorrow and my dick fall into a supermodel. Maybe. Maybe not. About as likely as my MIL being correct.
Glad I could be of no help.

Denver is a hub for Pioneer. I would say once Denver gets about 20-50 cases of covid-19, they will shut her down.

The recirculated air conditioning on airplanes won't give you the Coronavirus at all.

It's not so much about preventing geographic spread as it would be containing exponential spread. Like that Jet Blue flight today where some moron boarded with the virus.

Thankfully Jet Blue flies with the windows cracked in lieu of recirculated air.

I was headed to NYC at end of the month. Not concerned about flight being cancelled, moreso the city still being shutdown.

I am on a flight right now cross-country that I take twice a month for work. It usually is pretty fully with stand-by.

There are 17 of us on it according to the flight attendant. I am not sure how many usually are on a 737.

I am wondering if at some point the airlines might have to cancel/consolidate some flights based on lack of demand at the moment.
