Has anybody here had to give up caffiene?

I've been considering it lately because I've noticed some minor health issues that could be related to drinking coffee or soft drinks or other sources of caffeine intake. If you stopped, how did it affect you either positively or negatively? Do you have alternate sources of energizing yourself when you feel sluggish?
TIA for any help on this.

If I had to guess the health problems might be more related to sugar intake than caffiene

You mean sugar

I stopped, similar reasons, it didn't really affect me at all. I slowly reintroduced it, I will have 1 cup at work in the morning now, instead of my previous 5 or 6.
After having given up cigarettes and cocaine, caffeine was a breeze.

There's caffeine in tea, chocolate, even a lot of OTC painkillers.

Prepare for the worst headache ever for a couple of days.

Have you talked to your doctor about this?
Are you issues going to sleep? shite, what issues are you trying to solve.
I don't drink caffeine in the afternoons when I need to get up early the next morning.

I've needed to at times, I used to drink the equivalent to 20 cups a day. Now so, not so much. 1 or 2 glasses every so often

Sugar shouldn't be the issue because I go very low on sugar in coffee and I almost never eat sugary foods. The only way I get sugar is through very occasional carbonated drinks and/or iced tea and I plan to quit both of those. So that could kill two birds there.

What are the symptoms you think are related to caffeine?

Excessive caffeine intake can cause heart rhythm abnormalities. I recently cut way back on caffeinated beverages because of this.

Just general wellness. Maybe some jitteriness and issues with sleep.

Take vitamins, drink extra water. Helped me tremendously.

I am mulling it. Gave up salt, that was hard

Me too. I was drinking 5+ cups of coffee a day, and was abusing red bull vodkas over the last two-three years as my drink of choice. Don't do that

Caffeine doesn't have the same impact on me as it does for most people. I drink a half cup of coffee in the morning, but mostly during the winter.. I drink it to warm up more than anything (and only in the morning). If I drink something else I don't "have to have it".
It doesn't keep me up or anything. In fact, if I drink something with a lot of caffeine in it, it might give me a little extra energy for a little while, but then I will get really tired. But I do like to have a few sips of coke or dr pepper a day. I don't drink a whole can. If I dine in somewhere, I will drink water then once my meal comes I will drink coke with my meal then once I am done, will drink water again.. So the amount I drink isn't enough to really have to give up...But if I had to, I wouldn't be a problem.
I'd miss having a few sips of coke or dr pepper, but after a little while it wouldn't be an issue at all.
