I did to help lower my cortisol levels. I cut back gradually over the course of a week or two. Half a couple headaches but not to bad.

For reference, I was drinking a few energy drinks per day.

Feel much better after cutting them out.

I still drink tea so I didn't cut it out completely.

I guess everyone is different, but this isn't the case for me. I drink black arse coffee 2 out of any given 4 weeks. Thats just my best guess, but every now and then I just kick coffee for 1-2 weeks for no reason in particular and with no adverse effects. Occasionally I'll take a longer break.

ETA: I probably couldn't kick it on a long term basis without some work.
