Is anyone else getting anxious regarding the Coronavirus?

I’ve got a 10 day trip to Italy planned and it looks like it’s hitting them pretty hard.

As of Monday morning, Italian authorities shut down schools, universities and museums across the country’s north. Authorities also banned public and private gatherings, including soccer matches and cultural events. In Milan, the famed Scala opera house was closed. Venice ended its annual carnival early. Catholic Church leaders announced the suspension of Masses in compliance with local government bans on public gatherings.

Yes. I'm going to Germany in 2 months and I guess you just have to watch and make your decision. It's here in the United States too so what are you going to do? Just take a lot of hand sanitizer.
BTW: we always buy trip insurance.

What are you worried about? Its in the USA also. Its not really killing anyone healthy with good medical care.

You must have missed the part where there are travel quarantines and they’re closing down gathering areas.

I'm going to Vegas this weekend, and given the number of Asian tourists in Vegas it has some red flags raised in the back of my mind.

Going to Germany and Italy from the 15-31st of March. Kinda anxious about it now with the quarantines and shutting cities down.

Yesterday I cancelled my April trip to Japan. Hard to even reschedule something for that time unless it’s in South America. I don’t want to risk Europe

We have a trip to Spain scheduled for May. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on goings on there. I used miles for all the flights so I should be able to claw them back if we decide to cancel.

Oddly enough this was one time we took out flight insurance. After reading the fine print, an epidemic is not included. WTF?

Have a trip schedule to Slovenia for May. I hadn't even thought of it being an issue before this thread.

I’ve got a trip to England and Italy planned for March 6-17, will be in Venice the 11-13th.
I wouldn’t be worried about it other than the quarantines being enforced up in Northern Italy. Worst nightmare would be to get into Venice then can’t leave. I’m starting to think we’ll have to scratch Venice.
I’ve got Rome scheduled from 13-17th, hoping quarantines don’t start heading that way too or I’m gonna be pissed.
Got insurance though so at least there’s that

Japan as well in November, so I'm just standing put. Plenty of time to figure out what the long term situation will be by then.
I'd probably have done the same as you if April was the time period. Well, my wife would have made me
Will be pissed if I have to cancel though as that would be two international trips that I have cancelled in a row due to some extremely rare circumstances.

I’m in northern Italy right now, specifically Verona. Mayor of Venice called off the last two days of Carnival and San Marco Church is closed. A cluster of towns closer to Milan are quarantined. Friends who flew into Naples and Bari in the south encountered the Red Cross taking people’s temp in the airports. I did not encounter this in Rome.
A scattering of people on the streets in masks, but most are wearing the crappy cloth kind that don’t really work.
We are taking our chances. Living life is always a bit dangerous.

A major epidemic would bankrupt every travel insurance company. Even if it were covered you would not get paid.
I've got a July trip to Borneo that I'm really hoping doesn't get cancelled.

More people die in the US from the flu than from the CV. Just saying.

I just got back from a three week trip to Singapore, Bangkok and KL. People going about their usual business and it’s clear that public places (airport, food courts, malls, etc.) are being treated with extra care.
May just be my outlook, in general, but I wasn’t at all nervous being abroad. Simply, just made sure I was aware of my surroundings and had sanitizer/wipes with me.

No, because like Ebola and H1N1 before it, the media hypes the shite out of these viruses.

No, I'm saying tourism is a monster portion of Italy's GDP and if they restricted tourists from entering it would probably crush them.
I'm not sure I'd plan a new trip there right now, but if its going to happen soon and you are in good health I'd probably just try and make the best of it.

I'm not even that worried about getting infected. I've already been to sketchy places we already know are gross. Heck, so far as I know it wouldn't even be a big problem for my toddler son.
It's everything being closed that would suck. Less Chinese tourists I'm OK with, but not being able to do as much would be a bummer. In the near term, I might make different arrangements, but I think things will be well known after summer.

Scheduled to leave for Japan in 3 weeks.
It’s getting a bit tense now that the Dept of State has issued a Level 2 Warning.
