Good luck traveling overseas, because if you get the virus, youre not re-entering the US for about 4 weeks

I'm going to Japan/Phillipines in May and while I'm not super panicked, I do follow it a bit closer (especially since I'll be in the Tokyo area for a few days).

Will they quarantine you in a make shift hospital in a foreign country for a few weeks if you test positive for the flu?

Why risk it?

I am paying attention to it but unless you are planning to vacation in China, I would not let it affect my trip. Go enjoy Europe.

Everywhere in the northeast. PHL was full of them last weekend. Mostly Asians as usual though.

Other than an N95 experts say you're wasting your time. But I do see Asians wearing them all the time. I was shocked when I was in Europe last year to see how many.

I cancelled a two month European trip I had scheduled starting mid-April. Everything was refundable and I have no regrets. The world will be there later, no need to risk a quarantine or anyone’s health.

wouldn’t be worried about it other than the quarantines being enforced up in Northern Italy. Worst nightmare would be to get into Venice then can’t leave. I’m starting to think we’ll have to scratch Venice. I’ve got Rome scheduled from 13-17th, hoping quarantines don’t start heading that way too or I’m gonna be pissed.

I very much recommend Naples instead. Much further South, deep-fried meatball pizzas under 5 Euro, beautiful architecture, great museum, easy access to Capri, Pompeii, and Herculaneum.

More people die in the US from the flu than from the CV. Just saying.

A) we’re not testing people for CV

B)a new infection will of course having a lower death count than an existing, prevalent infection

I am in the middle of planning out summer trip to the Basque region, Belgium and the Netherlands but am going to sit tight for a while before buying the plane tix. I probably wasn't going to buy for another month anyway but now I am considering not going. Have to see how this plays out.

Have you ever been to French Canada? I know it’s not the same but it’s drivable and there is great camping in the rural areas.
