For the last several months I have been sleepwalking. Multiple times each night. I never feel rested when I wake up. Most of the time it is harmless but there are instances of me cooking my wife's ashtray in the airfryer, I cooked a plastic jar of peanutbutter on the stove eye. Last week I took my toolbag outside and took the wheels off our garbage can. There are many other times of doing other random, odd things in my sleep. The scary thing is that last night I drove myself to my childhood home in my sleeping pants and tshirt and the new homeowner caught me throwing rocks at their basketball goal. I was arrested for trespassing. Luckily the officers believed my story so they called my wife to come pick me up and I had to go get my car from the impound yard for 150 bucks. So embarrassing.

I will be going to the doctor Monday because that scared me. What if I end up hurting somebody or myself. Wreck my car etc. There is hopefully something that can be medically done to help me. Frightening stuff. I am embarrassed by it and I have never heard of any treatment for it.

Have any of you went through it? Does it still happen? What causes it and is there anything a doctor can do treatment wise? I have many other similar stories but I am already leaving out the most shameful occurrences. I know the OT won't fail me. So what can I expect? Thanks for the serious replies and thanks for the smartass replies as well

So you were arrested and then they changed their minds and let you go?

You. Went. Too. Far.

I see you're establishing a basis for your trial defense or mitigation early. Good move.

Well. It's TRUE bro. Embarrassing and I guess I came to the wrong place for advice. I just don't know what to do. Should have expected these responses.

Yep. His stepdaughter said she's going to tell mom what's been happening.

Thata pretty obvious. Who has been on this board longer than a week who doesn't realize it's the wrong place to come for advice?

Just go to the doctor, sleep medicine, I hope, and let them do a sleep study.

In the meantime, don't take a shite on your neighbor's windshield or jackoff into their garden hose.

Sounds like you get real fricked up and do stupid shite and only call it “sleepwalking” because you were too fricked up to remember.

That would be my answer if your OP was real, which it’s not.

You got drunk and gave yourself to a man one night. Just own it. No need to continue with this “sleep walking” charade to cover up your sexuality.

Are you under stress?

PTSD?

I’ve been a sleepwalker my whole life. As an adult I have episodes when I experience extreme stress such as the death of a loved one. I once got up at 2:30 a.m. and took my dogs to the park. I generally do mundane things and if not for my SO I’d never know about them.

Not really stressed out. Pretty happy guy. I thought it was the remeron I take at night but I quit taking it and the episodes continue.

Also, to those that don't believe me. I wish I were lying about. I am scared to death. No telling how much worse it can or will get. I cant really see a specialist because I have a four thousand dollar deductible so I try not to use my insurance. At first we all laughed about it but it's quite serious and I need some help. Either way, I have see ya shortly.
