San Francisco's district attorney is proposing creating an auto-burglary-assistance fund that would reimburse residents for the cost required to repair shattered windows from break-ins.
The DA, Chesa Boudin, is proposing using $1.5 million from the mayor's office to fill the fund. If it passes, it could be the country's first fund of this kind.
"Auto burglaries are the No. 1 way people in San Francisco are directly impacted by crime," Boudin said in the San Francisco Chronicle. "While we know there's more work to do, this is something we can do today to step up and support victims."

Or...ORRRRRR...you could aggressively combat criminal activity in your city.

Government reimbursement won’t make the problem worse at all.

What’s to stop someone from double dipping?
Can they ‘set up’ a robbery, let the criminal get off with all their stuff, then cash in this government handout?

Now people with cracked windows or broken window motors are just going to shatter their windows and file a police report.

I truly do not understand how liberals cannot grasp that neutering the police is the quickest way to make your city a complete shithole.

This is good if you're in AutoGlass. Watch those costs start to go up.

There isn't a crack in the sidewalk that isn't jammed full of broken car glass on the Embarcadero

Translation: Hey homeless people! When you're done shitting in the street, to these extent you may have even a moment of hesitation about smashing that car window to steal some shite, have no fear...we'll replace that window for the vehicle owner.

Those messages are sad if true. People need to be kinder to each other.
